How to tell if plastic containers contain PVC? - pvc container

I wanted to put a jar of mayonnaise lot size of old silver coins in an empty container of cocoa storage (instead of hiding to clear at the time), but only recently came across an article warning of a chemical reaction between Silva and PVC. How do I know if a PVC plastic? Is there some sort of symbol or mark the containers made of PVC, PVC is not in the plastic? PVC is found in food grade plastic?
